Signature quilt in process

Well finally started cutting the material for the signature quilt that I am making for my father's wedding. The quilt is called "Ties that Bind" and it is from Keepsake Signature Quilts by Sally Saulman.

I only have 8 more blocks to go. Need to have it done by July 27th. I think I can have it done. Anyone recommend pens to use for the signing?

Label for Janie's quilt

The quilt I made for Janie was super easy. I got the pattern from Bradie Sparrow. She offered it for free on her website http://quiltcetera.wordpress.com/. If you are a beginning quilter I'd recommend that you follow her on the blog or on FB. She has excellent patterns!

Teacher gifts

My Lizzie is leaving her preschool after three years. I am making this wall hanging for her teacher. Still have to add the sleeve and hand sew the remainder of the binding.

Friendship Block Quilt with borders

Got the borders on yesterday at quilt class:

Friendship Block Quilt

Over the winter I was "persuaded" by another guild member to do the Friendship Block swap. You select your colorway and your "friend" makes you two blocks a month. The third month you receive the remaining material and assemble a quilt top. At our next Yankee Quilters guild meeting on June 14th you reveal your quilt top and find out who your "friend" is that made your blocks. Check back in for the big reveal!

Originally I wanted blue and white because I had some blocks from http://www.stitchinheaven.com/ that I wanted to incorporate into the quilt. These blocks were only 8 inches and not a pure white like the blocks above. SOOOOO this meant I had to change the design.

On Wednesday's I attend a quilt class at http://www.emmasquiltcupboard.com/ where my teacher Cathy Bodio came up with this design. We decided to add red sashing. I still need to add the border which is really going to make it pop! I hope to find some time today to cut the borders. Pics to follow!

Successful field trip!

Ryco was awesome. Love that it was in an old mill. I found the fabric I needed. Red and white for the teacher wall hanging and a binding fabric. Bonus was "Eiffel Tower" fabric which I will tell you about in a later post.
